FAQ’s about Solaria ………………

Q. How long does it take to build a home at Solaria?
A. About 7 months from ground breaking to walk-through.

Q. How do the payments work?
A. Make a deposit with your purchase agreement of $25,000 USD. Further payments will be due from you as the construction progresses. During construction you will receive a regular stream of electronic photographs of your house being built. You will have no doubts about progress, and will enjoy watching your dream-home become a reality.

Q. I might want to make some personal additions or changes to the design – for instance, maybe a bathtub in my master bath, and some specially designed cabinets in my kitchen. Can this be done?
A. Yes. Just let us know now. We will incorporate agreed upon changes into the overall construction plan. If you want a nanny-suite in the lower level of the house, there is room for that too! We are interested in feedback and refinements that make this your special place.

Q. What about hurricanes?
A. Thankfully Belize is not a major target for these storms. Nonetheless, Solaria has been carefully designed and engineered with safety and durability in mind. Bob Campbell built homes in Malibu California for over 20 years before coming to Belize. Bob builds houses in Belize with the same attention to strength and durability that was demanded by California building codes, which are amongst the strictest anywhere. Homes are well engineered for storm and wind, are on solid ground and are designed with primary rooms elevated well above grade. Roof tiles are securely bolted in place. Hardwood storm shutters allow for easy closing of the home. Atrium windows are shatterproof.

Q. Can I buy hurricane insurance?
A. Absolutely. Solaria is insured during construction through R F & G Insurance, which is the most highly rated insurance carrier in Belize. R F & G will insure your home at Solaria (as will other companies – you are free to choose). Comprehensive “All Perils” insurance covers fire, flood, windstorm, hurricane, volcanic eruption, malicious destruction, earthquake and other “perils” you probably never even imagined. Cost is about 1.075% of value insured.

Q. Is my title secure?
A. Absolutely.

Q. Are there fees for upkeep, and if so who decides what they are?
A. Yes. Owners meet annually to make decisions about the budget for the coming year. Costs and charges will be determined by owners themselves, not by any outside entity.

Q. Is there a place to park my golf cart and to store my boat (out of the water).
A. Yes – your home has ample covered space for these items as well as bicycles, kayaks and more.

Q. Why Belize?
A. The first 275,000 reasons are the people of Belize – they are wonderful. Other reasons - natural beauty, great weather, excellent property values, English as national language, English Common Law, stable peaceful democratic governmental system, good health care, low crime rate, easy access by air from major cities in US and Canada, sound and steady appreciation of real estate, variety of healthy recreational activities ……… the list goes on and on.

Solaria ………….. the song of the sun, sung to you on the shores of the Caribbean Sea.

I look forward to hearing from you ………….
